What is praise in delta testing?
Praise represents what is working well, what's delightful, or what testers are satisfied with in a product or feature. It's one of the three key feedback types during delta testing.
Testers submit praise as they use the product over a period of time in their personal environments. Like issues and ideas, praise for specific features is assigned an Impact Score that's calculated by the submission's popularity with testers and the importance of that feature within the product. This allows teams to rank and prioritize each piece of praise for the product.
Form elements of praise
Here are a few elements of an praise form:
- Summary: A single line summary of the praise
- Feature: The experience or area of the product
- Description: A detailed overview of the praise
- File attachments: Any associated files (e.g., screenshots, mockups)
- Status: Where the praise is in the workflow or decision process
- Comments: An area where admins and other testers can collaborate and provide additional details on the submitted praise
- Votes: A place where testers can indicate they are also are satisfied or are praising the feature
What praise tells you about your product or feature
Praise tells you what's working and what your users like. While it's often excluded as a type of user feedback, it shouldn't be. After all, you can learn a lot about the overall health of your product by taking note of which features have a high percentage of praise compared to issues or ideas.
